The Safewash (SWA) can be used prior to plating operations as a micro etching process, cleaning away contaminates and leaving a surface which is slightly rough. This allows excellent bonding of the plated material.

The Saferinse (SRI) is not necessary but recommended to final rinse electronic subassemblies, after cleaning with Safewash water, to remove any solubilised residues or white streaking due to tap water impurities.
