NIPPON INDUSTRIES CO. LTD. (NIC)was founded in 1975 as a manufacturer of aluminium electrolytic capacitors. Over the ensuing 27 years, NIPPON expanded its line of products include Tantalum, Film Capacitors, Ceramic Capacitors & a variety of Resistive Components. Design material procurement & quality control are administered from Tokyo , Japan Head Quarters. In 1980, NIPPON introduced their first Surface Mount Component Thick Film Resistor Chips & by 1984 Tantalum & Ceramic Chips were being designed as many U.S. OEM's started switching to SMT. In 1982 - NIC Components Corporation was also established as a north American subsidiary of NIPPON INDUSTRIES CO. LTD. JAPAN. In the year 1999 NIC Asia (Singapore) was also established.
